Inbox Reset

7,000 unread emails. One prompt. Your own Claude.

Inbox Reset is a free skill you install into Claude. It interviews you, builds a labeling system that fits how you work, and processes your whole backlog in safe batches. Nothing gets deleted, and your email never touches our servers.

Works with claude.ai (Gmail connector) and Claude Code. Reply Drafter skill included.

How it works

1

Install the skill

Download the file, paste it into claude.ai with the Gmail connector, or drop it into Claude Code. Takes about a minute.

2

Answer a short interview

Claude asks what you do, what categories matter, and how aggressive to be. Then it proposes a label system and waits for your approval before touching anything.

3

Watch the backlog drain

Claude works in batches with progress counts, archives instead of deleting, lists newsletters worth unsubscribing from, and ends with a 10-minute weekly routine you can rerun any Friday.

We never see your email

There is no signup account, no OAuth, no server on our end. The skill runs entirely inside your own Claude account, using your own Gmail connection. We give you the instructions, not access. If you can read the skill file (you can, it is plain text), you know exactly what it does.

Get Inbox Reset

Free. Enter your email and you'll go straight to the download. Both skills, no waiting, no spam. We'll only write when there's a meaningful update.

That email didn't look right. Give it another try.

Requires your own Claude account (the Gmail connector works on paid Claude plans).

Questions

Will it delete my email?

No. The skill has a hard rule against deletion. It archives, which in Gmail just removes mail from the inbox view. Everything stays searchable and recoverable.

Can you see my email?

No. Nothing runs on our side. The skill is a text file that runs inside your Claude account with your Gmail connection. We have no servers touching your mail, no database of your messages, and no way to see anything.

Why is it free?

Because the instructions are the product, and good instructions deserve to spread. If it saves your Saturday, tell a friend with a scary inbox.

What do I need for it to work?

A Claude account with the Gmail connector enabled (claude.ai paid plans), or Claude Code with a Gmail command line tool. The skill detects which one you have and adapts.

My backlog is huge. Can it really handle it?

Yes, that is the whole point. It works in batches, shows progress counts, and writes a checkpoint so you can stop and resume across sessions. The big mechanical passes usually clear most of the pile fast, then it slows down for the mail that needs judgment.

What if the Gmail connector can't apply labels?

Some connector setups are read-only. In that case the skill still does all the thinking, then hands you exact Gmail searches and steps so the bulk actions take seconds. You still get the system, the unsubscribe list, and the routine.

A note from the founder

I run an AI consulting practice in Michigan. The first thing almost every client asks me to fix is not some fancy automation. It's their inbox. I kept writing the same careful instructions for Claude over and over: interview first, never delete, work in batches, leave a routine behind. At some point I realized the instructions were the product.

So that's what this is. The same skill I use with consulting clients, packaged so you can run it yourself, free. If it saves you one Saturday morning, send it to someone whose inbox scares you.
